Kitchen Island Carts Once you've determined the correct condition and size for your table, you may choose to further define your dining area with a rug. Choose any style rug to enhance your room's d?cor and visually set apart your dining space from the others of your house. How big is the rug depends upon the size of your table. There should be a minimum two-foot perimeter about the edge of the table for rugs, allowing for use of chairs and visual cohesion.
Chairs should not be rickety or wobble. When the chair has a padded seat, the corners should be reinforced with screwed-in (not glued) corner blocks. Padded seats should be removable so that the cover can be changed. Fabric covered chairs may not be appealing if you have small children who are messy eaters. Leather is a superb option for quick cleanup, as is stain resistant microfiber upholstery. Slip covers on Parson's chairs are another easily cleaned option for the dining area.
